MEET SOPHIA OLIVIA
Athena is more than just a salon, it’s my story and a dream turned reality.
Back in 2021 I closed the doors to my salon of 10 years in Herefordshire, and moved into Cheshire with my family. I had no client base up north, the relocation meant starting from scratch. No income, no back up plan- just years of knowledge, expertise and determination.
I used my social media to gain exposure, built a studio in my garden at home and within 2 years had a new client base, to my surprise even my Hereford clients started to travel a 6 hour round trip so I could do their hair. By August 2024 I got the keys to my new salon. I opened ATHENA with a clear vision: to build a luxury space that reflects everything I value: quality, calm and care. With over 20 years in the hair industry, I’ve specialised in advanced extension techniques including the Nano Weft, Hidden Weave technique. I have always been passionate about creating hair that looks and feels effortlessly natural.
I wanted to create more than just beautiful results. I wanted a space where every client feels seen, confident and completely themselves. A salon where high standards meet genuine connection. ATHENA is also a place of education. I believe in empowering other stylists to grow their skills and confidence, which is why training is such an important part of what I do.
What started as a vision is now a space I’m proud to call my own - a luxury destination for hair, beauty and growth, right here in Alderley Edge.
